INTENDED USE:
Microalbumin Semi-quantitative Urine Test is a semi-quantitative immunoassay that uses the competitive inhibition method to detect the albumin from human urine specimen from patients for early screening on nephritic and diabetic disease. Performance of the test is limited to professional use. Microalbumin Semi-quantitative Urine Test provides preliminary test results. The test kit cannot be used as the sole basis for treatment or other management decision.
For in vitro diagnostic use only.
SUMMARY:
Albumin is a small protein that is found in large amounts in bloodstream and it is needed for tissue growth and healing. Microalbuminuria is a term to describe a moderate increase in the level of urine albumin. It occurs when the kidneys leak a small amount of albumin into the urine, which is an abnormal symptom. Thus, microalbumin used as laboratory marker in earliest way to detect kidney disease.Microalbuminuria is often the first detectable sign of early kidney disease. People who are at risk of kidney disease may need to have regular urine tests for microalbuminuria. Especially on cases of high blood pressure, type I and type II diabetes, obesity or metabolic syndrome and genetic inherited kidney diseases. In the United States, it is thought to affect between roughly 6 to 10% of people. Microalbuminuria it also is a risk predictor for cardiovascular disease, development of preeclampsia during pregnancy. Technically, microalbuminuria is defined as urinary excretion of albumin between 30 and 300 milligrams of albumin per day. This test use 20mg/L albumin as the criterion for microalbuminuria.
