INTENDED USE:
HAV IgG/IgM Antibody Joint Test is an immunochromatographic assay that use immuno-capture method for qualitative detection of anti-HAV IgG and IgM antibodies from serum, plasma and whole blood specimens of human. It’s used as an aid in the diagnosis of HAV infection. This device is performed manually.
SUMMARY:
Hepatitis A is a vaccine-preventable liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). Globally, the HAV infection rate is decreasing and the average age at infection is increasing. Tens of millions of individuals worldwide contract HAV through faecal-oral transmission each year, usually via ingestion of contaminated food or water or through contact with an infectious person, especially in low-income countries. Hepatitis A also has a high prevalence in homosexual populations. Hepatitis A virus is a positive-sense RNA virus of Picornaviridae5. In most infected individuals, anti-HAV IgM rapidly increases in 4-6 weeks post infection and then declines to non-detectable levels within 3 to 6 months. Anti-HAV IgG can be detected at the onset of symptoms and remain elevated throughout an individual’s life.
