INTENDED USE:
Influenza A (H1N1) Antigen Test Kit is an immunochromatographic assay that uses double-antibody sandwich method for qualitative detection of Influenza A (H1N1) antigen from nasal swab specimen. This device is performed manually. Performance of the test is limited to laboratory professional use.
SUMMARY:
Influenza viruses are significant pathogens of humans, which including four genera within the orthomyxoviridae family, Influenza A virus, Influenza B virus, Influenza C virus and Influenza D virus. Only influenza A viruses are known to have caused pandemics. The pathogenesis and classification of influenza A is accomplished by describing the viral glycoprotein haemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N). Influenza A (H1N1) causes a wide range of respiratory symptoms and generally associated with high morbidity and low mortality. It caused the pandemic in 2009 which causes over 18,138 deaths across more than 200 countries. Symptoms of influenza A (H1N1) include fever, cough, headache muscle or joint pain, sore throat, chills, fatigue. Confirmed diagnosis of influenza A (H1N1) requires RT-PCR testing result. RDT tests is also a useful tool for screening suspected patients from nasal swab specimen.
