INTENDED PURPOSE:

NOVAtest® One Step LH Urine Test offered a rapid, visually read and qualitative test for women. The user can predict ovulation by testing her urine sample with this double-antibody sandwich method of lateral flow immunoassay. This test is entirely manual by the user.

INTENDED USER:

Performance of the test is limited to self-testing at home. The test can be applied to any fertile women.

SUMMARY:

Human luteinizing hormone (LH) is a glycoprotein hormone and is present in human blood and urine. High levels of LH trigger ovulation. LH is secreted sharply in the middle of menstruation (period), it is called LH surge. Fertile women regularly release one egg during each menstrual cycle. Therefore, predicting of ovulation is important in preparing for pregnancy. Conception is most likely to occur within 24 to 48 hours of the LH surge.

The main methods of detecting ovulation are ultrasound testing and blood or urine LH testing. Urine LH test is simple to operate and can quickly detect ovulation within 10 minutes with high sensitivity and specificity.
